Christmas Eve

Missed service at church because the little man was under the weather but he perked up when he got to open his new slide.

The greatest gift God has ever given me is this little man, couldn't imagine life without him! Love you Sammy Boy!

Birthday #1

Late posting pictures of Sammy's Birthday party (which was in September). I'm a bad blogger and a bad mommy. I was so busy watching Sammy and making sure the party was going smoothly that I forgot to take pictures of everything.

It was a pirate party with red, black and yellow colors and we had a candy buffet for the adult favors and party bags for the kids with pirate hats, swords, noise makers, pirate bears and ducks and lots of candy (including GIANT lollipops in red and white). I made banners for the candy buffet, fireplace, and front door and had huge perfectly round balloons in red, black and yellow . There were pirate swords and parrots.....

Food consisted of chips, dip, vegetable and fruit trays, amazing cookies in the shape of pirates, treasure chests, ships, treasure maps and 3 different kinds of cupcakes, a pirate ship cake and a beef and chicken fajita buffet.

Ugh I still can't believe I didn't get pictures of everything. Oh well there is always next year, which I'm planning already and it's going to be a circus with bouncy house and all...I've already reserved the park (yes it's going to be big!)

Halloween

Opps! Just a bit late posting these pictures (only 2 months). We never did make it out to trick-or-treat because Sammy fell fast asleep right after these pictures while still wearing his costume. Next year maybe we'll make it out the front door.

Pumpkin Patch

Last year Sammy was only a month old in October so we skipped the Pumpkin Patch but this year he's a year old and walking so we bundled him up and hit the Pumpkin Patch and farm!

Sammy was was curious about all the animals and when the piglets escaped their pen he was clapping and pointing at them. My sweet boy is such an animal lover.

I am so amazed at how much my little boy has grown in the last year. I can't believe my little baby is now a toddler who is walking, talking and getting into everything. Oh they weren't lying when they said it goes by fast.

Don't grow up to fast sweet boy!

Ok ignore the rant I was on before

Someone please make this baby sleep! He had an ear infection and it's all gone but now he's waking up every hour! I love this boy so much but if he doesn't start sleeping soon I'm going to give him away to the nearest person.

NOT sleeping through the night

10 months old and he's still not sleeping through the night, yes I know it's my fault because I've let him get use to feeding to fall asleep but no I am not going to let him cry it out.

The last couple of days I've had a number of people tell me that I HAVE to let Sammy cry it out to teach him to sleep through the night. I understand that this works for some babies but Sammy is just not one of them, he is what is called a "high needs" baby. Most babies would cry for a period of time and fall asleep exhausted. Not my boy, he'd cry and get himself so worked up he wouldn't be able to stop crying.

Sure I'm not getting much sleep but heck what mama is? I've never seen an 18 year old head off to college not being able to sleep through the night and needing to feed or be held to sleep so I'm not worried.

Trust me when I say losing a couple hours of sleep for me is easier than hearing my baby boy cry and get himself worked up to the point of hysterics.

That's my rant for the day - now I'm going to go take a nap with my Sammy who's falling asleep next to me in the bed :)

Sammy is now into trains so we took him to a country village near our house that had train rides, and electric trains to watch. He was in train heaven. Looks like we know what to get him for his birthday.

Time for a swim!

We picked up a kiddie pool for Sammy for the days when we can't make it to grandma's pool. The pool is currently sitting on our deck in the backyard because hubby decided to reseed the lawn, yeah next time he's going to do it in the fall when we don't actually want to spend time on the lawn.

Sammy loves to go swimming but we weren't sure how he would react with a kiddie pool since it's smaller and he can't really "swim" in it but he loved it. The only problem we had was him wanting the dogs to come play with him so he would try to stand and yell at them to come over, he wasn't happy when they wouldn't listen to him :)
